Southwest Airlines Temporarily Suspends Service in Ft. Lauderdale Due to Hurricane Georges

Southwest Airlines has canceled all flights into and out of Ft. Lauderdale until at least 5:00 p.m. Eastern today due to the approach of Hurricane Georges. The airline will monitor the weather situation to determine whether operations will resume after 5:00 p.m. Eastern today.

Southwest's Customers flying into or out of Tampa can call the same number for possible flight delays during the day today and for additional flight status tonight and tomorrow morning.

Southwest will continually update its reservations centers with current flight information as the storm progresses.
