Southwest Airlines Offers Spring Flings For $99 or Less

Southwest Airlines today announced $39, $59, and $99 fares for Customers traveling into and out of Baltimore/Washington International Airport.

Fares start as low as $39* each way from Baltimore/Washington to Providence, Manchester, Islip (Long Island), and Cleveland. Flights from Baltimore/Washington to Chicago Midway, New Orleans, Orlando, Tampa Bay, Jacksonville, or Fort Lauderdale are just $59** each way. Customers may enjoy flights between Baltimore and all other scheduled Southwest destinations for $99** or less each way. All fares are based on roundtrip purchase.

"With fares this low, Customers in Baltimore/Washington are free to plan spring and summer flings to the destination of their choice." said Joyce Rogge, Southwest's vice president of marketing. "It's also an excellent opportunity for Southwest Customers across the system to visit Baltimore/Washington."

These fares are available by calling Southwest Airlines at (800) 435-9792, visiting Southwest's Web site at www.southwest.com, or by consulting a professional travel agent.

Southwest Airlines began service to Baltimore/Washington in September 1993 with eight daily nonstop departures to Cleveland and Chicago Midway. Just five years later, the carrier offers 82 daily nonstop departures to Birmingham, Chicago Midway, Cleveland, Ft. Lauderdale, Houston Hobby, Islip (Long Island), Jackson, Jacksonville, Kansas City, Las Vegas, Louisville, Manchester, Nashville, New Orleans, Orlando, Phoenix, Providence, San Antonio, St. Louis, and Tampa Bay. Southwest will begin service from Raleigh-Durham International Airport on June 6, 1999 with 12 daily nonstop departures to Baltimore/Washington, Nashville, Chicago Midway, Tampa Bay, and Orlando.

*$39 fares are good for travel through August 4, 1999.
**Fares are available for purchase until April 27; $59 fares are good for travel April 6 through June 3, 1999; and $99 fares are good for travel April 6 through August 4.

All of the aforementioned fares must be purchased within one day of making reservations and at least seven days before departure. At least a one-night stayover is required. While tickets are nonrefundable, they may, if unused, be applied toward the purchase of future travel on Southwest Airlines. Seats are limited and will not be available on some flights that operate during very busy travel times such as Spring Break or Memorial Day holiday periods. Fares are subject to change until ticketed, and do not include a $2 per segment fee and airport taxes of up to $12 roundtrip.
