"I am excited about the challenges my new job will present," said Rodriguez. "I plan to serve the Seattle community with the same dedication to excellence that is the hallmark of Southwest's success."

Rodriguez is one of nearly 50 Hispanics working in Southwest Airlines leadership roles. Southwest, through its multicultural marketing efforts, works with Hispanic organizations from coast to coast to support many areas, initiatives, and events that are important to the Latino community.

Rodriguez joined the Southwest family in 1984 as a reservations agent in San Antonio. Most recently, Rodriguez acted as station manager in Spokane.

In addition to his 18 years of airline leadership experience, Rodriguez is a graduate of Southwest's Manager in Training (MIT) program, a course designed to help prepare individuals for Southwest leadership roles.

"Eli is a perfect fit for the Seattle team," said Frank Guistiani, Southwest's Regional Director of Ground Operations. "Seatac International Airport is fortunate to acquire such an experienced team member to its management staff."

Southwest Airlines currently operates 39 daily nonstop departures from Seatac International Airport to Albuquerque, Boise, Chicago Midway, Kansas City, Las Vegas, Nashville, Oakland, Phoenix, Reno/Tahoe, Sacramento, Salt Lake City, San Jose, and Spokane with additional direct or connecting service to 40 cities.
