Southwest Airlines Reports January Traffic
Southwest Airlines Co. announced today that the Company flew 2,469.5 million revenue passenger miles (RPMs) in January 1999, a 19.3 percent increase from the 2,069.6 million RPMs flown in January 1998. Available seat miles (ASMs) increased 8.7 percent to 4,168.3 million from the January 1998 level of 3,835.0 million. The load factor for the month was 59.2 percent, compared to 54.0 percent for the same period of a year ago.
