Question: Where Can You Fly for $99 or Less?; Answer: Anywhere Southwest Flies from Las Vegas, Phoenix, Chicago, St. Louis, And Houston

Southwest Airlines (NYSE:LUV) today announced a special $99 or less each way fare for travel between Las Vegas, Phoenix, Chicago's Midway Airport, St. Louis, and Houston Hobby and any published destination.

"September is a great time to travel because the summer travel frenzy is over," said Joyce Rogge, Southwest's vice president of marketing. "With the kids back in school, Mom and Dad can take a leisurely mid-week trip alone to many fun cities -- and let Grandma spend a few days with the little ones!"

Tickets must be purchased by September 2, 1999, and travel is valid from September 1 through September 30, 1999. Fares are each way with roundtrip purchase required and apply to scheduled service only. Seats are limited and won't be available on some flights that operate during very busy travel times and holiday periods such as Labor Day. Tickets must be purchased within one day of making reservations and at least seven days before departure. Tickets are nonrefundable but may be applied if unused toward the purchase of future travel on Southwest Airlines. Fares are subject to change until ticketed, and any change in itinerary may result in an increase in fare. Fares do not include a segment fee of up to $2.25 each way and airport taxes of up to $12 roundtrip. A stayover of at least one night is required.

These fares are available by calling 800-435-9792, visiting the airline's web site at http://www.southwest.com/, or by calling a professional travel agent.

"The best days to fly at these incredible low fares are Monday through Thursday and on Saturday," said Rogge.
