Southwest Airlines Extends Fall Fare Sale; Fares as Low as $39 Each Way

You say you need more time? Southwest Airlines (NYSE: LUV) says, No problem!  The airline is extending its latest low fare offer.  You may now purchase tickets by November 7, 2002, for travel through April 4, 2003 (original date was March 8).  The special features fares ranging from $39 to $99 each way on off-peak days (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Saturday) and from $44 to $129 each way on the busier peak days (Sunday, Monday, Thursday, and Friday).

All fares are now on sale through November 7, 2002, for travel now through April 4, 2003.  The fares require roundtrip purchase with an overnight stay (any night).  Tickets must be purchased at least 14 days before departure and within one day of making reservations.  Fares do not include a federal segment tax of up to $3 per takeoff and landing.  Fares also do not include airport- assessed passenger facility charges up to $18 roundtrip or government-imposed September 11th Security fees of up to $10 roundtrip.

Tickets are nonrefundable but (except for tickets purchased through our Group Tickets program) may be applied toward the purchase of future travel on Southwest Airlines without a change fee.  Seats are limited and may not be available on some flights that operate during peak or holiday travel times such as Thanksgiving and the December holidays.  Blackout dates apply to all Florida markets March 13 through April 4, 2003.  Fares are subject to change until ticketed, and any change in itinerary could result in an increase in the fare.  Fares are not necessarily common rated in Houston, the Bay Area or the Los Angeles Basin area.  Orange County's John Wayne Airport and Houston's Intercontinental Airport are not included in these sales.  The offers apply only to published scheduled service.
