Southwest Airlines' Reservations for Year 2000 Now Available

Southwest Airlines (NYSE:LUV) reservations for year 2000 are now available for sale through Jan. 14. Unlike other carriers, Southwest Airlines historically makes seats available for sale about six months in advance.

Today, the airline's reservation sales agents are prepared to bring Positively Outrageous Customer Service into the new millennium. The airline expects heavy bookings due to Customers who are traveling to celebrate the New Year and century.

Southwest Airlines' success for the last 28 years of the 20th Century hinged on the Southwest Spirit and corporate culture. The massive project to prepare the airlines' systems for the Year 2000 has been no different.

Southwest Airlines, now the nation's fourth largest carrier in terms of Customer boardings, serves 54 cities in 28 states. The airline currently has more than 28,000 Employees and operates more than 2,400 flights a day.

As of October 31, 1999, Southwest will serve Bradley International Airport in Hartford, Connecticut. Southwest will operate 12 daily nonstop departures to four cities: Baltimore/Washington, Chicago Midway, Nashville, and Orlando.
