Mike is responsible for the Teams that provide unbiased financial forecasts and reporting to support the future of Southwest Airlines. His department manages the Annual Operating Plan, Company budgets, economic and industry analysis, and provides extensive financial analytical support that enables decision-making across the Company. 

Mike is a proud Baylor Bear and started his aviation career as a Certified Flight Instructor. He flew the ERJ-145 as a First Officer before starting at Southwest as an Analyst in the Revenue Management Department in 2005. His Southwest experience includes everything from planning market strategies and pricing for the cities we serve to leading the Teams responsible for the Annual Capacity Plan. His experience across the Commercial, Financial, and Operational sides of the business give him a unique perspective for his current role.

Mike is passionate about serving in his community and supporting the many activities his children are involved in. He has been a head coach for the Greater Lewisville Area Soccer Association for many years and has served as the Treasurer for Cub Scout Pack 295 since 2018. Mike is a Gold Seal Flight Instructor and has held a type rating in the Cessna Citation and EMB-145. He has been a keynote speaker for Baylor Distinguished Aviation Alumni and is a graduate of Southwest Manager in Training (MIT) I and II. 

Mike holds a bachelor’s degree in Aviation Science from Baylor University and an associate’s degree in Aeronautical Science from Texas State Technical College. He is married to, Emily and they have three children: Ava, Carter, and Tate. In his free time, Mike enjoys traveling and spending time outside with his family.
