Southwest Airlines Names New Assistant Station Manager for Long Island/Islip

Southwest Airlines recently named Steve Stone as the new Assistant Station Manager for its operations at MacArthur Airport in Islip. As Assistant Station Manager, Stone will be responsible for assisting the station's leadership team in ensuring the safe operation of all flight activities in Islip.

"I'm thrilled to be working with the team in Islip," says Stone. "It will be very rewarding to work alongside such skilled and professional individuals."

Stone became a member of the Southwest family in September 1993 as a Customer Service Agent in Indianapolis. During his tenure with Southwest, Stone has held the positions of Operations Agent as well as Customer Service Supervisor in El Paso, and Operations Supervisor in Baltimore/Washington. Most recently, he served as the Assistant Ramp and Operations Manager in Baltimore/Washington. In addition to his promotion, Stone has been selected for Southwest's 2001 Managers In Training Program.

Southwest currently operates 22 daily nonstop departures from Long Island/Islip's MacArthur Airport with direct or connecting service to 33 cities.
