Southwest Prepared to Welcome Spring Break Travelers

Update

Bolstered by strong recent operational performance and robust staffing, Southwest is slated to operate more than 4,000 daily flights on peak days through the Spring Break travel period across our Network of 121 airports in 11 countries. As we shared in our 2022 Fourth Quarter Financial Results and conference call, our travel demand is strong for the Spring Break season, in line with the industry as a whole.

To prepare for peak seasons, Southwest was the first airline to return to pre-pandemic staffing in June 2022 and hired more than 10,000 new Employees, net of attrition, last year. Now, in 2023, Southwest has already hired more than 1,400 new Employees to support our Customers, flight schedule, and operations. As a result, Southwest was second among marketing carriers in on-time performance for February and third in January – a large step toward quickly returning to our historical levels of operational reliability.

As always, we look forward to welcoming Customers onboard with our legendary Southwest Hospitality.
