Southwest Airlines Offers $99 Fares From Columbus

Southwest Airlines announced today it has good news for Columbus travelers. Until Thursday, Oct. 15, 1998, Customers may purchase travel in or out of Columbus for just $99 or less each way, based on roundtrip purchase. Travel is valid through April 2, 1999.

This special fare must be purchased at least seven days before departure, and within one day of making the reservation. Seats are limited and won't be available during very busy travel times and holiday periods. A single night's stay is required, but the Customer may pick which night works best for him/her. This fare is nonrefundable. The value of any unused portion, however, may be applied toward future travel on Southwest Airlines.

"This fare offer has a very generous travel window that is not to be missed," said Joyce Rogge, Southwest's vice president of marketing. "This would be a great way to head south and escape the snow that is right around the corner."

Nonstop destinations from Columbus include: Chicago Midway, Nashville, Orlando, St. Louis, and Tampa Bay.

Any change in itinerary may result in an increase in fare. Fares do not include airport taxes of $3 to $12 roundtrip. Fares also do not include a $2 Federal excise tax that will be imposed on each flight segment of your itinerary. A flight segment is defined as a takeoff and landing.

For the third year in a row, FORTUNE magazine has recognized Southwest Airlines in its annual survey of corporate reputations. This year, FORTUNE listed Southwest Airlines among America's Top Ten most admired corporations. In 1998, as in 1997 and 1996, Southwest also was named the most admired airline.
