Southwest Airlines Names New Station Manager For Cleveland

Southwest Airlines named Jeff Murrin as the new station manager for the Company's operations at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport.

"I'm looking forward to returning to Cleveland for everything that the city represents," Murrin said. "The Employees there are the most talented, skilled, conscientious, and professional people I have ever had the pleasure to work with."

Murrin joined the Southwest family in 1988 as a Customer Service agent in Houston. During his tenure with Southwest, Murrin has held several positions including Houston Customer Service supervisor, Houston assistant manager Customer Service, Houston manager ramp and operations, Cleveland station manager, and most recently he was the station manager in Baltimore.

"We look forward to working with Jeff in his new position," said Chris Wahlenmaier, Southwest's senior director of ground operations. "With his wealth of knowledge he will continue to provide legendary leadership skills within the Cleveland Management Team."

During Murrin's five years at the Baltimore station, he has provided exceptional leadership working on numerous committees, task forces, and special projects. Adding to his skills, Murrin completed Southwest's Manager in Training (MIT) program in 1993.

Southwest Airlines, the fourth largest domestic carrier in terms of Customers boarded, currently serves 57 cities in 29 states. Based in Dallas, Southwest currently operates more than 2,600 flights a day with a fleet of 326 Boeing 737s with an average age of 8.4 years- one of the youngest pure jet fleets in the domestic airline industry.
