Southwest Airlines Offers $99 Fare Between Albuquerque and Oakland

Southwest Airlines today announced its newest offer--$99 one-way on nonstop service between Albuquerque and Oakland. Customers must purchase tickets by Oct. 24 and travel is valid from Oct. 25 through April 2, 1999.

"Offering this fare sale is another way for Southwest Airlines to match the Customers' enthusiasm for the new nonstop service between Albuquerque and Oakland," said Joyce Rogge, Southwest's vice president of marketing.

This offer is valid on nonstop flights only. Tickets must be purchased seven days in advance and within one day of making reservations.

The fare is valid for one-way travel and no overnight stay is required. Seats are limited and will not be available on some flights that operate during very busy travel times and holiday periods such as Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years, or Spring Break.

Tickets are nonrefundable but, if unused, may be applied toward the purchase of future travel on Southwest Airlines. Fares are subject to change until ticketed, and any change in itinerary may result in an increase in fare. Fare does include airport taxes of $3 or a $2 federal excise tax.

As of Oct. 25, Southwest Airlines will operate 51 daily nonstop departures from Albuquerque and 109 from Oakland.

Currently, from Albuquerque, Southwest flies nonstop to Amarillo, Dallas, Houston, El Paso, Kansas City, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Lubbock, Midland/Odessa, Orlando, Phoenix, San Diego, St. Louis, Salt Lake City, and Tampa.

Southwest flies nonstop from Oakland to Burbank, Kansas City, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Nashville, Ontario, Orange County, Phoenix, Portland, Reno/Tahoe, Salt Lake City, San Diego, Seattle, Spokane, and Tucson.

Southwest Airlines, named "The Best Company to Work For in America" by FORTUNE magazine in its January 1998 issue, employs more than 26,000 workers throughout its system. Southwest employs more than 750 in Albuquerque and more than 1,000 in Oakland.
