Southwest Airlines Employees Raise More Than $20,000 for Kidd’s Kids

Update

In support of Kidd's Kids Day, Southwest Airlines Employees, Customers, and fans on social media came together to raise more than $20,000, to help fund the annual Kidd's Kids trip. Kidd's Kids is an organization founded by the late Kidd Kraddick in 1991 with a dream to make a difference in the lives of children and their families who were impacted by life-altering conditions. The program began as a bus ride to a theme park in San Antonio with five families.  Now in its 31st year, the foundation has sent more than 1,000 kids and their families to the most Magical Place on Earth in Orlando, Florida.

Southwest has partnered with Kidd's Kids since 2006, and the airline provides a charter aircraft for the trip to and from Orlando. Southwest Employees donate their time by volunteering to crew the flight. For the families who live outside of North Texas, Southwest provides complimentary travel to and from Orlando, outside of the charter flight. Kidd's Kids covers all expenses, which includes: hotel, park passes, meals, transportation, spending money, and souvenirs.  Support comes from individual contributions made by listeners of the Kidd Kraddick Morning Show, corporate donations, special event fundraisers and generous in-kind donations.

Kidd's Kids continues to accept donations, which can be made by visiting the Southwest Airlines-dedicated Kidd's Kids donation page.

The 2022 Kidd's Kids trip sendoff will take place on Thursday, November 17, and the Southwest charter aircraft will depart Burbank Hangar in Dallas, headed for Orlando.
