Southwest Airlines Names New Assistant Station Manager in San Jose, California

Southwest Airlines recently announced Pravin Mahabir as the new assistant station manager for its operations at San Jose International Airport. In his new position, Mahabir will be responsible for assisting the station's leadership team in ensuring the safe operation of all flight activities in San Jose.

"I am excited about joining the dynamic team in San Jose," says Mahabir. "I look forward to helping Southwest maintain excellent service levels at San Jose International."

Like many other Southwest Employees, Mahabir has successfully climbed the professional ladder at Southwest Airlines. He joined the Southwest family in 1990 as an Oakland Customer Service Agent. Since that time, he has worked in Oakland as a Customer Service Supervisor and a Regional Quality Support Representative. Mahabir also worked as Manager of Customer Service in Sacramento. His most recent position was Manager of Customer Service at Oakland International Airport.

In addition to his ten years of service, Mahabir is a recipient of Southwest's Superstar Leader of the Quarter Award in Oakland an award for outstanding supervisors. He also is a graduate of Southwest's Manager in Training program, a course designed to help prepare individuals for Southwest leadership roles.

"Pravin's experience, dedication, and Southwest Spirit make him a great asset to the San Jose management team," said Matt Buckley, Southwest's senior director of ground operations.

Southwest Airlines operates in San Jose with 70 daily nonstop departures to Burbank, Kansas City, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Ontario, Orange County, Phoenix, Portland, Reno/Tahoe, San Diego, and Seattle. Southwest employs 222 people in San Jose and more than 30,000 Employees nationwide.
