The best internet site for low fares now makes flying even more affordable. Travelers must book at , and when they do, they will find one-way fares ranging from $34 to $89 for travel Monday through Thursday or on Saturday.

"Southwest has been the low fare policeman on the beat for 30 years, and we're dedicated to bring Customers the lowest fares available for travel," said Joyce Rogge, Southwest's senior vice president of marketing. "We want our Customers to spend their hard earned dollars when they get where they're going, not on the ticket to get there."

Tickets must be purchased by Sept. 17 and travel is valid Sept. 15 through the end of the schedule (currently Jan. 11, 2002).

For example, Customers traveling between Los Angeles and Kansas City or between New Orleans and Baltimore/Washington can get one-way fares as low as $89. Travel between Los Angeles and Las Vegas is as low as $34 each way. Sale fares are not available for travel on Friday or Sunday.

The rules: Fares are one-way and combinable with all other fares; when combining with other fares, the most restrictive fare rules will apply; tickets must be purchased within one day of making a reservation and at least seven days before departure; seats are limited and won't be available on some flights that operate during very busy travel times or during holiday periods such as Thanksgiving, the December holidays and New Year's; some holiday blackout dates will apply; tickets are nonrefundable but may be applied toward the purchase of future travel on Southwest; fares do not include airport taxes of up to $18 roundtrip and a federal tax of up to $3 per flight segment (a segment is defined as a takeoff and landing); fares are subject to change until ticketed, and any change in itinerary could result in an increase in the fare; Ticketless Travel may be purchased online using either a credit card or funds from a previously unused or cancelled Ticketless Travel reservation(s). Southwest Airlines travel credit (e.g., travel voucher, gift certificate, discount coupon) may not be used as forms of payment for Ticketless Travel Online; fares are not necessarily common rated in Houston, the Northern California Bay Area or the Los Angeles Basin; and George Bush Intercontinental Airport and Orange County Airport are not included in this sale.

Southwest was ranked among the top 100 e-businesses, according to the second annual "InternetWeek 100" survey.
