JOB DESCRIPTION: Chris provides Leadership to the Treasury, Supply Chain, and Fleet Teams, and is responsible for managing risk and maintaining compliance for Southwest Airlines. His areas of oversight include capital markets, cash management and investing, fuel hedging, interest rate and foreign currency hedging, corporate insurance, stock plan administration, fleet strategy/transactions, banking and rating agency relationships, and capital structure. Chris provides executive direction and support for Supply Chain Management and oversees our Sustainability efforts, including Fuel Strategy & Management and Environmental Sustainability Teams, as Southwest continues to move forward in environmental, social, and corporate governance (ESG) work. This work includes the goal of achieving carbon neutrality by 2050, and efforts to do right by our planet and our Company in the communities we serve and beyond.

EXPERIENCE: Chris has worked in various roles throughout the Company. Previous positions include: Financial Analyst, Manager Cargo Finance, Purchasing Contract Negotiator, Director Ground Operations Planning, and Financial Planning Controller. In 2007, he moved to the Treasury Team as Director Corporate Finance and was promoted to Assistant Treasurer in 2011, before serving as Vice President Treasurer. Chris worked for Accenture in Information Systems consulting for two years before joining Southwest. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for Airborn, Inc. 

EDUCATION: Graduated cum laude with a BBA in Finance from Abilene Christian University.

LENGTH OF SERVICE AT SOUTHWEST: Chris joined Southwest Airlines on September 26, 1991.

FAMILY: Chris and his wife, Kim, have been married since 1987. They have a son, Aaron, and a daughter, Abbey.
