New Orleans Fire Fighters Return the Favor to New York City by Aiding in the Aftermath of Hurricane Sandy
New York City Fire Fighters flew to New Orleans seven years ago to assist after the devastation from Hurricane Katrina. Today, New Orleans has not forgotten the favor. The first of 40 New Orleans Fire Fighters boarded a Southwest flight to New York to assist in the recovery from Hurricane Sandy, and say thank you to those who helped rebuild their own city many years ago. The two cities' fire departments are working in aiding the recovery of Staten Island, an area that received a tremendous amount of damage from Hurricane Sandy.
