Southwest Airlines Hosts Meals on Wheels Blitz Day Supporting the Visiting Nurses Association

Update

Southwest Airlines hosted a Meals on Wheels Blitz Day with over 300 Employees serving on the ground and 140 routes that made their way around Dallas to Support the Visiting Nurses Association (VNA). In celebration of 50 years of the Meals on Wheels program and in honor of 10 years of Southwest’s MOW Blitz Day, the Company made a donation of $10,000 to further support Meals on Wheels.

Southwest Airlines Employees have been volunteering with the Visiting Nurses Association (VNA) Meals on Wheels program for nearly 20 years. Over the years, Southwest Employees have loaded up cars and blitzed Dallas County, delivering more than 15,000 meals (on 1,200 routes) to seniors and house-bound clients.  For over 52 years, our Employees have put their Heart in all they do through volunteerism, acts of kindness, and giving back. To honor this legacy and celebrate the Culture of caring that has been cultivated at Southwest, the Company declared this November Heart in Action Month.

Putting our Heart in action is part of Southwest’s culture of caring and at Southwest, our purpose is to connect people to what’s important in their lives which drives our actions in the air, on the ground and out in the communities that we serve.
