Planners at both Southwest and AirTran are making preparations to re-launch service at airports across the upper mid-Atlantic region and New England. At this time, Southwest and AirTran plan to resume service late tomorrow morning pending weather conditions.

Since Thursday, and including tomorrow, Southwest Airlines has canceled a total of nearly 300 flights systemwide as of this hour. For context, Southwest had 2,482 flights scheduled today and 2,820 scheduled tomorrow.

Since Thursday, and including tomorrow, AirTran Airways has canceled a total of nearly 55 flights systemwide as of this hour. For context, AirTran 552 flights scheduled today and 559 scheduled tomorrow.

Planners at both Southwest and AirTran have made adjustments to the operation of each airline as a winter storm continues to intensify across the upper mid-Atlantic region and New England. Airport conditions have resulted in flight cancelations today in Albany, Boston (Logan), Buffalo/Niagara, Hartford, Long Island, Manchester, Newark, New York (LaGuardia), Philadelphia, Portland, Maine, as well as Providence, and Rochester, New York.

Including Thursday, today, and tomorrow, Southwest Airlines has canceled a total of nearly 280 flights systemwide as of this hour. For context, Southwest had 3,246 flights scheduled today and 2,482 for Saturday.

For today and tomorrow, AirTran Airways has canceled a total of nearly 50 flights systemwide as of this hour. For context, AirTran had 573 flights scheduled today and 552 for Saturday.

The winter storm affecting the Great Lakes, New England, and north mid-Atlantic regions has planners at both Southwest and AirTran continually adjusting operations to minimize disruptions impact on our Customers and Employees.

For today and tomorrow, Southwest Airlines has canceled a total of nearly 250 flights systemwide as of this hour. For context, Southwest had 3,252 flights scheduled today and 3,246 scheduled for Friday.

For today and tomorrow, AirTran Airways has canceled a total of nearly 50 flights systemwide as of this hour. For context, AirTran had 570 flights scheduled today and 573 for Friday.
