Southwest Airlines Reports November Traffic
Southwest Airlines Co. (NYSE: LUV) announced today that the Company flew 3.4 billion revenue passenger miles (RPMs) in November 2002, compared to 3.6 billion RPMs flown in November 2001. Available seat miles (ASMs) increased 4.0 percent to 5.7 billion from the November 2001 level of 5.5 billion. The load factor for the month was 60.5 percent, compared to 65.3 percent for November 2001.
For the eleven months ended November 30, 2002, Southwest flew 41.5 billion RPMs, compared to 40.9 billion RPMs for the same period in 2001. Available seat miles increased 5.3 percent to 63.0 billion from the 2001 level of 59.8 billion. The year-to-date load factor was 65.9 percent, compared to 68.5 percent for the same period last year.
