AirTran Holdings Statement on Form 10-K
AirTran Holdings, Inc. (NYSE: AAI), announced today that the amounts reported in the audited financial statements for 2005 included in Form 10-K differ from those previously reported in its press release filed on a Form 8-K dated January 27, 2006, principally due to changes in estimates as a result of information which became available to management subsequent to the date of the press release. The effect of these adjustments on a net of tax basis reduces the previously reported preliminary fourth quarter and full year 2005 results by approximately $1.0 million or $0.01 per fully diluted share.
AirTran Airways, one of America's largest low-fare airlines with 7,000 friendly, professional Crew Members, operates over 600 daily flights to 50 destinations. The airline's hub is at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, where it is the second largest carrier. AirTran Airways recently added the fuel-efficient Boeing 737-700 aircraft to create America's youngest all-Boeing fleet. The airline is also the first carrier to install XM Satellite Radio on a commercial aircraft and the only airline with Business Class and XM Satellite Radio on every flight.
