AirTran Airways Will Kick Off Stadium Sponsorship with Colts 'Superfan' Contest
- Low Cost Carrier Will Give Airline 'Season Tickets' to the Best Dancing Colts Fans -
AirTran Airways, a subsidiary of AirTran Holdings, Inc. (NYSE: AAI), will tailgate with Indianapolis Colts fans on Sunday, December 2, to announce the airline's sponsorship as a founding partner of the new Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis. Motivated fans can paint their faces blue and put on their dancing shoes for a chance to win eight roundtrip tickets from AirTran Airways.
At 10:30 a.m., prior to the 1 p.m. kickoff against Jacksonville, AirTran Airways will unveil renderings of the new stadium section bearing its name and give away eight "AirTran Season Tickets" to the fan with the best AirTran Airways Colts tailgate dance. That's eight roundtrip tickets to anywhere AirTran Airways flies. Each contestant will have 15 seconds to perform his or her most outrageous "AirTran Superfan" dance, and the winners will be chosen by official judge Ashley Manning, wife of Colts quarterback Peyton Manning.
"AirTran Airways is a proud sponsor of the Indianapolis Colts, and we are excited to give the most creative Colts fan this opportunity to win free* airline tickets," said Tad Hutcheson, vice president of sales and marketing for AirTran Airways. "The winner of our Superfan contest will be able to use AirTran Airways to attend Colts away games for the rest of the season, while enjoying free XM Satellite Radio at every seat and Easy fit overhead bins on every flight."
"We are excited to announce AirTran Airways as a Founding Partner of the Indianapolis Colts in Lucas Oil Stadium," said Jay Souers, vice president of sponsorship sales for the Indianapolis Colts. "We look forward to taking our partnership with AirTran Airways to new heights."
To be eligible to win free airline tickets, contest participants must sign up for the AirTran Airways' A+ Rewards program, the airline's frequent flier program. Membership in A+ Rewards is free. Visit aplusrewards.com for more A+ Rewards information.
Colts tailgate contest participants will be judged on personality, creativity, style and enthusiasm. They can only perform solo, and while no hats are allowed, face painting is encouraged. Rude, crude or otherwise inappropriate behavior will mean immediate disqualification. All participants are required to wear the specially designed t-shirt provided by AirTran Airways at the tailgate. The tailgate will be in the Blue Crew Lot at the intersection of South Street and Pennsylvania Street.
