Southwest Airlines Names New Assistant Station Manager for Birmingham Municipal Airport

Southwest Airlines (NYSE: LUV) recently named Mike Gillock as the new Assistant Station Manager for its operations at Birmingham Municipal Airport. As Assistant Station Manager, Gillock will be responsible for ensuring the safe operation of all flight activities in Birmingham.

"I look forward to working with a great team as our operations at Birmingham Municipal Airport continue to expand," said Gillock.

Gillock, an Indianapolis native, began his career with Southwest Airlines in 1996 as a Customer Service Agent in Dallas and later moved to Baltimore/Washington where he was a Ramp Agent. In 1997 Gillock was promoted to Ramp Supervisor and most recently served as the Assistant Manager of Ramp and Operations.

"Mike's knowledge, dedication, and Southwest Spirit will make him a great addition to the Birmingham Management team. We look forward to working with Mike in his new position," said Mike Hunter, Southwest's senior director of ground operations.

Southwest currently operates 25 daily nonstop departures from Birmingham Municipal Airport to Baltimore/Washington, Chicago Midway, Houston Hobby, Jacksonville, Louisville, Nashville, New Orleans, Orlando, Phoenix, St. Louis, and Tampa Bay. The airline also provides additional direct or connecting service to 37 other cities.
