Randy Sloan serves as Southwest Airlines' Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer. In this position, he provides leadership for all of the Company's technology functions. Randy's key responsibilities include delivery of the Company's strategic initiatives and oversight of all technology products and services.
Randy joined Southwest Airlines in 2012 as Vice President & CIO. During this relatively short time with Southwest, he has led significant technology initiatives, including the launch of international service, the integration of AirTran systems into Southwest, and a strategic transformation of the Technology Department to a more effective operating model. Prior to joining Southwest Airlines, Randy worked for PepsiCo for 26 years where he served in various leadership roles, including Senior Vice President and CIO for PepsiCo International, Vice President and CIO for PepsiCo's European businesses based in Switzerland, as well as Vice President of Enterprise Systems Development. Randy began his IT career as a programmer with Texas Instruments.
Randy holds a Bachelor of Science in Information Systems from Pittsburg State University, Pittsburg, Kansas. He is on the Board of Directors for The Family Place, a Dallas-based non-profit and leading advocate for victims of domestic violence. He also formerly served on the Board of Directors for SharePlus Bank, a Plano, Texas-based community bank, and for Frito-Lay Credit Union.
